Bottom Line: Porch and Parlor is an upscale premium restaurant in Memphis' Overton Square section on Madison Avenue with top notch quality food and service. The ambience is elegant yet homey. It's a bit pricey but you will enjoy the meal as well as the experience.
The Food
The menu emphasis steak and offers prime cuts as well as wagyu, which is Japanese premium grade cuts. This style of steak is sought after all over the world. Its expensive but you have to try it at least once. They also have premium seafood, salads, chops, soups and more.
We had a party of 5 and was seated at our reserved table not too far from the bar. We ordered a special appetizer of deviled eggs topped with wagyu beef. It came with sea salt and roasted garlic and it was delicious. The wagyu was grilled at our table with a torch which adds to the premium experience.
We ordered our main courses of Louisiana red fish, roasted chicken, prime rib, and lamb chop respectively. The sides are family style made to share and we chose the sweet potatoes with pecans and marshmallows, creamed spinach, and brussels sprouts with bacon. Everything we ordered we shared and everyone was highly pleased with their meal. There were no leftovers to speak of.
On my next visit I would be interested to try some of the other items and also have a seat at the bar.
Dress Code
Porch and Parlor doesn't have a dress code that I'm aware of but I would suggest you dress up a bit. You don't want to come to a place like this and look like you just came from the gym.
This is not a place you're going to frequent often given the premium price but when you do it will possible be for an occasion. You may want to take pictures (which we did) and it will be a better experience to dress nicely.

Final Verdict
I would definitely recommend Porch and Parlor to anyone looking for a premium meal. Its well worth and they ensure quality here. I will be back one day soon to report back on a second visit. If you happen to try it come back and let me know how it was.
